Following the regular portion of the June 10 Hudson Board of Selectmen, a non-public session took place to discuss and vote on a number of different personnel moves, according to the draft minutes from the meeting.
One of those personnel moves was to authorize the Director of Community Media to hire Kristen Parziale as an on-call staff member. The rate was to pay $16 per hour with it being for no more than 20 hours per week. Another agenda item was to authorize the Police Chief to hire Cameron Feely as a full-time Police Officer, with a starting salary of $31.27.
For the Police Department, the Board of Selectmen also unanimously approved authorizing the Police Chief to hire Lucy Elerath as a full-time Telecommunication Technician with a starting salary of $23.09 per hour.
The Board of Selectmen also unanimously approved authorizing the Public Works Director to hire Rosario Parisi effective June 16, 2025 at $24.25 per hour. Additionally the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to approve an increase in hourly salary rate by 5.0% for Valerie Marquez through the vacancy of the second Water Utility Clerk. It was noted that it would be retroactive to May 19, and the Town Administrator has the authority to rescind it when appropriate.
During the regular portion of the meeting, it was explained by Town Administrator Roy Sorenson, that they would be having a mandatory training coming up for staff. “This is a big one, cybersecurity training, mandatory training, townwide June 26th,” Sorenson said.
Sorenson explained during the meeting that Primex, the insurance carrier company for the Town, would be helping them with running the training.
“We’re going to do this over at the Hills Memorial Library, and obviously everybody can’t attend,” Sorenson said. “However, we will film this, and then we will ask the department heads to follow up on their staff watching that video.” Also during the meeting a number of personnel moves were announced from the May 27 non-public session meeting. One of those was to unanimously approve the Police Chief to recognize and award Lieutenant Roger Lamarche, Executive Coordinator Sherrie Kimball, and Animal Control Supervisor Jana McMillan with a merit award of $333 each. Another move was to hire Richard Daughen for the position of Firefighter/AEMT in the Fire Department at the contracted salary of $31.30 per hour .
The Board of Selectmen also made another personnel move for the Fire Department during that meeting, including hiring Parker Berube for the position of Firefighter/EMT in the Fire Department at the contracted salary of $23.80 per hour. The Board of Selectmen also unanimously approved an increase in hourly salary rate by 5.0% for Executive Coordinator Erika LaRiviere until the Administrative Aide II position is filled.
