The Alvirne Broncos Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field teams traveled to neighboring Londonderry for the 2025 R.E.A.L. Londonderry Invitational on Saturday, May 24, with 14 teams coming together for a jam-packed day of events.
This was the final meet of the regular season before the teams will be competing at the NHIAA Division I Championship.

The Broncos had a number of athletes competing under damp conditions.
Shane Plumley placed third for Alvirne in the Boys 400-Meter Dash, just a step behind first with a time of 50.99 seconds. Jayden Hastings of Goffstown took first in this event by a fraction of a second with a 50.52-second run.
Alvirne’s Brent Dunning placed 11th out of 23 in the Boys 800 Meter Run. Dunning had a 2-minute 2-second run. Evan Spence of Salem took first place as one of five runners with a sub-two-minute run. Spence beat out Bedford’s Ethan Pulsifer by one second after a neck-and-neck race.
Seniors Anna Simpson and Sophia Berube placed second and third in the Girls 3,200-Meter Run. Simpson ran for 12 minutes and 2 seconds. Berube ran 12 minutes 27 seconds.
They trailed only to an impressive 11-minute 45-second run by Concord sophomore Mahalie Burdette, the only sub-12-minute run of the event.
Joey Marcotte placed second for Alvirne in the Boys 300-Meter Hurdles with a final time of 40.24 seconds. Pelham’s Colby Crear took the win in this event with a time of 38.93 seconds.
Shawn Boudreau placed second in Boys Shot Put with a 50-foot 2.75-inch heave. Boudreau was behind Nashua North’s Darius Smith, who put up a 52-foot 5.5-inch throw.
It was Boudreau and Smith topping the Discus leaderboard, but Boudreau bested Smith and the rest of the competition by a significant margin. Boudreau’s final discus throw of the day traveled 167 feet 6 inches, 15 feet ahead of Smith.
The Broncos’ next meet will be on Friday at the Division I State Meet.
