The Alvirne High School Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball teams each secured their first victories of the season before the end of 2023.The Broncos boys beat the Exeter Blue Hawks 67-64 at home, on Tuesday night, Dec. 19.The Lady Broncos win also came on their home court. On Thursday night, Dec. 21, just before the holiday break, AHS beat the Nashua South Purple Panthers 59-33.Both teams also suffered their third loss of the young Winter season.The Alvirne Boys’ squad was defeated by the Purple Panthers 57-49 at Nashua South High School on Thursday night, Dec. 21.The Broncos girls’ third loss also came on the road, losing 65-54 to the Lady Blue Hawks at Exeter High School on Tuesday night, Dec. 17.With each team getting a win and a loss to end 2023, they both start the new year with a 1-3 record.The girls will face Winham High School (4-1) at home on Tuesday night, Jan. 2.On Friday night, Jan. 5, the boys will travel to Merrimack High School to face the 0-4 Tomahawks, starting at 6 p.m.The Bronco boys will travel to Windham on Tuesday, Jan. 2, to face the Jaguars (2-2).They will then host the Merrimack High School Tomahawks (2-2) on Friday night, Jan. 5, with the game scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
