Eager families lined the fence along the pasture behind the barn at the Palmer Center at Alvirne High School for the annual “Watch Party,” where residents gathered to witness the spring release of the dairy cows into the pasture for the first time this season.
The excited cows raced into the field to graze on the fresh grass, which had been allowed to grow to the proper height before the release. The event, organized annually by the school’s FFA program, has become a popular community tradition celebrating agriculture, animal care, and the arrival of spring.
