Long Search Finally Ends for Hudson’s New Town Planner

After more than a year, the town of Hudson has selected its next Town Planner, according to draft minutes from the May 13 nonpublic meeting, released last Friday. According to the draft minutes, John Stoll was selected as the next Town Planner “with effective date and terms of salary to be negotiated by Town Administrator, Roy E. Sorenson, to be finalized upon (a) signed Conditional Offer of Employment executed through the signatory of the Chairman of the Board of (Selectmen), Dillon Dumont.”
In other personnel news, from the non public meeting, the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved Police Chief Tad Dionne to to advertise for a part-time custodial/maintenance assistant position, effective July 1, 2025, with a maximum of 29.5 work hours per week and annual compensation not to exceed $34,141.  Also according to the draft minutes the Board of Selectmen approved the hiring of full-time Police Officer, Stephen Sanchez, with a starting salary of $34.33. 
During the regular portion of the meeting, one of the agenda items was in regards to a proposal to appoint Brendon Sullivan to the Zoning Board of Adjustment. It was noted by Board of Selectmen Chair Dillon Dumont that Sullivan previously went to the Board of Selectmen to let them know he was interested in helping out with one of the boards or committees and was seeking feedback on what he should consider.
The Board unanimously approved making Sullivan an alternate member with his term set to expire in 2027. 
Dumont, during the meeting, said he thinks that it’s a perfect opportunity for him to start as an alternate member so he can be accustomed to what they do on the Board. 
Another agenda item was a proposal to accept a street from M.R. Lacasse Home. 
“The Public Works, Engineering, Fire, Police, and Planning Departments have completed their inspections and recommend acceptance of the road. This acceptance includes only the drainage features located within the dedicated Town right-of-way,” a memo to the Board of Selectmen stated. “A two-year maintenance bond in the amount of $60,570.48 is in place. As required, this street acceptance will proceed with the publication of one public notice.”
The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved accepting Mansfield Drive as a Town road. 
During the consent agenda portion of the meeting, the Board of Selectmen approved a donation from Judy Laferriere-Mank, owner of The Bar in the amount of $250 for the Police Department.
