The annual Greater Derry Track Club’s Kids Summer Fun Runs finished up their season with nearly 400 young runners taking to the Londonderry High School track on Monday night, July 28.
Results were tallied from the three previous weeks of running and the overall winners were announced this week.




The winners in each division were given backpacks for their efforts and every runner participating was given a t-shirt and a medal at the end of the Monday night races.
The free races were held on a number of Monday nights over the summer with area youngsters, ages two-years and up competing in seven categories in a variety of distance races.
Each year, participating families are asked to donate a non-perishable food item as part of the registration.
The overall results to the season were as follows.
Nine-Year Old Girls: First, Madeline Ambrose of Londonderry; second, Nyree Zamrana of Londonderry took second; and Rylee Bell, of Derry and Madison Hoffman, of Londonderry tied for third.
For the Nine-Year Old Boys: Taking first was Joshua Tiney of Sandown; Aiden Capone of Londonderry came in at second; and Thomas Hynes was third.
Ten-Year Old Girls: Sasha Solovyeva of Hudson won every race and took first; Paisleigh DeCarolis of Derry was second; and Harper Gorman of Chester took third.
Ten-Year Old Boys: First was Liam Kobisky, of Derry; Will Burke, of Salem was second; and Robert Varsolone and Quinn Manning, of Chester, were third.
The 11-Year Old Girls had two runners winning backpacks: First was Ryla Zatsky of Windham and second was Jenna Fleming of Derry.
For the 11-Year Old Boys: TJ Santosuosso of Derry took first; Joshua Hynes, of Windham was second and Calvin MacLeod, of Derry, came in third.
The 12-Year Old Girls had Annabell Hall of Sandown winning, Corinne Tinkham of Litchfield was second; and Ava Miller, of Litchfield, took third.
The 12-Year Old Boys division had Andrew Solovyev of Hudson taking the top spot after winning every week.
The 13-Year Old Girls had Emily Miller, of Litchfield, winning and the 13-Year Old Boys Nicholas Tiney, of Sandown, winning.
