The Greater Derry Track Club’s (GDTC) popular Kids Summer Fun Runs continued its weekly summer series on Monday, July 13, with more than 330 participants of all ages taking part in a number of races.
The club has hosted the Fun Runs for nearly 50 years, with the Kids Summer Fun Runs now in their 40th season.

Each Monday evening throughout June and July, the GDTC welcomes hundreds of young runners and their families to the Londonderry High School track for an evening of friendly competition and fitness.
This week’s races marked the third week of the season, with 26 runners finishing in the top three of the age-group races in which results are officially recorded.
The series begins each week with 50-yard sprints for the youngest participants, ages 2 and 3, before progressing to longer races for older runners. Official results are recorded for participants ages 9 and older, with season-ending awards presented to the top finishers in each age group.
The Summer Fun Runs continue every Monday evening at the Londonderry High School track. Registration begins at 6 p.m., with the first races scheduled to start at approximately 6:30 p.m.
