The annual Greater Derry Track Club held its first two-weeks of Kids Summer Fun Runs on Monday night, June 30 and July 7 with two young Hudson runners taking the top spots in their divisions.
The free races are held each Monday night, weather permitting, at the Londonderry High School track for area youngsters, ages two-years and up competing in seven categories in a variety of distance races.
The club keeps track of race results in the nine- through 13-year old divisions and tabulates overall winners at the end of the season.
Each participating family is asked to donate a non-perishable food item as part of the registration.
First Weeks Results were as follows.
Nine-Year Old Girls: First, Nyree Zambrana of Londonderry; second, Madison Hoffman of Londonderry and Ava Varsalone of Chester was third.
Nine-Year Old Boys: First, Joshua Tiney of Sandown; Second was Seamus Guanci of Derry; Third, was Christian Sinopoli, of Windham.
Ten-Year Old Girls: First, Sasha Solovyeva of Hudson; Second, Paisleigh DeCarolis of Derry; and Harper Gorman of Chester was third.
Ten-Year Old Boys: First, Liam Kobisky of Derry; Second was Quinn Manning of Chester; Third, was Ryder Sassone, of Chester.
11-Year Old Girls: First, Ryla Zatsky of Windham; Second, Erika Smith of Pelham; Third, Jenna Fleming of Derry.
11-Year Old Boys: First, Derek Bath of Derry; Second, TJ Santosuosso of Derry; Third, Joshua Hynes, of Windham.
The 12-Year Old Girls had just Kendall Cimeno, of Londonderry running and winning.
12-Year Old Boys: First, Christopher Mercurio of Derry; Second, Andrew Solovyev of Hudson; Third, Brady Harlow of Londonderry.
13-Year Old Girls: First, Kelsey Santosuosso, of Derry; Second, Emma Wainwright, of Derry.
13-Year Old Boys: First, Sawyer McPherson of Londonderry; Second was Nicholas Tiney of Sandown; Third was Ethan Smith, of Pelham.
On week two, for the Nine-Year Old Girls: First was Madeline Ambrose of Londonderry, with Nyree Zambrana of Londonderry taking second and Rylee Bell of Derry was third.
Nine-Year Old Boys: Joshua Tiney of Sandown was first again; second was Aiden Capone of Londonderry; Third, was Thomasa Hynes of Windham.
Ten-Year Old Girls: Taking first again was Sasha Solovyeva of Hudson; second, Paisleigh DeCarolis of Derry; and Harper Gorman of Chester was third.
Ten-Year Old Boys: Liam Kobisky of Derry remained in first second was Blake Robinson of Londonderry; third, was Will Burke, of Salem.
11-Year Old Girls: First was Ryla Zatsky of Windham; Grace Hall of Derry took second.
11-Year Old Boys: TJ Santosuosso, of Derry, took first; Joshua Hynes, of Windham, was second; and Aiden Doherty, of Windham, was third.
The 12-Year Old Girls: Annabelle Hall, of Sandown, was first; Corinne Tinkham, of Litchfield was second; and Ava Miller, of Litchfield was third.
12-Year Old Boys: Andrew Solovyev of Hudson took the only spot.
13-Year Old Girls: First went to Emily Miller of Litchfield and Lily Press, of Windham, was second.
13-Year Old Boys: Nicholas Tiney, of Sandown, won.
Races will continue each Monday until the first week of August with registration starting at 6 p.m. and races beginning at 6:30 p.m.
