The Hudson Community Fun Run Series has returned for its third rendition after a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. It was supposed to return last week, but thunderstorms on Wednesday just as the event was about to get underway caused the series’ first week to be canceled, despite the excitement surrounding the event.

Last Wednesday night, July 17, approximately 100 runners had been registered for the Fun Run before the threat of lightning and rain dashed the runners’ hopes.
The running series will now hope to commence this Wednesday. The event is hosted by the Friends of Hudson Memorial Cross Country/Track & Field, led by Matthew and Kerri Simpson. The couple hopes to turn this event into something larger that can ultimately create a small scholarship fund for high schoolers looking to further their educations beyond Alvirne High.
For anyone interested in attending this event, there is no entry fee, although the Friends of HMS XCTF ask that anyone who is able bring non-perishable items to help support local food pantries in the Hudson community.
If there is anyone interested in joining the Fun Run Series, registration begins every Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the Alvirne Track with stretching beginning at 6:15 PM and the first races kicking off at 6:30 PM.
