Broncos Softball Squad Looks to Improve this Season

Alvirne’s Varsity Softball team is ready to take on their new season to begin this week. They’ll be on the road against Goffstown and Concord, each at 4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. They play at home against Salem at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Coach Becky Radziewicz is returning for her second year as the Varsity Girls’ head coach. She has played a major role in multiple levels of softball in Hudson. Radziewicz is an Alvirne alum, playing on the school’s Varsity Softball team from 2004-2007.
Radziewicz has 10-years of experience coaching softball at the middle school. Radziewicz also runs the town’s recreational softball program.
“It’s exciting to see how years of building our softball community are beginning to take shape at the varsity level,” said Radziewicz.
Last year, the Broncos Varsity team closed the season with a 5-13 record, but
bumps in the road were expected when dealing with such a young roster. Radziewicz saw it as an opportunity for her girls to navigate the challenges and overcome the obstacles of performing at the Varsity level as a team mostly made up of underclassmen. The team this year will also be heavy on underclassmen, with only three girls being upperclassmen. Still, there are many returning players with an opportunity to continue building chemistry together.
Despite what the record showed, there are plenty of flashes of potential from last year to look out for in this upcoming season. Current Junior Cori Sevigny batted .481 and current Sophomore Nyiah Stroming batted .422 last year.
Incoming Freshmen Abbie Kowalski and Adriana Vallante are two more strong arms to help out the team.
Avery Williad will be returning as a Team Captain for her senior year. Senior Lexi Testa and Junior Cori Sevigny were also named captains for the 2025 season.
Radziewicz said, “With a strong focus on player development, mental toughness, and program growth, I am committed to making Alvirne a highly competitive and successful program for years to come.”
