The Alvirne High School varsity soccer teams have experienced a challenging opening three weeks of the 2026 season, with both the Broncos boys and girls teams looking to build momentum as the Division I schedule moves forward.
The Alvirne boys opened the season with a pair of close losses, falling 3-2 to Concord on Aug. 28 and 2-1 to Pinkerton Academy on Sept. 1. The Broncos then dropped a 6-1 decision to Windham on Sept. 8 and were shut out 3-0 by Merrimack two days later.
Alvirne broke through on Sept. 12, however, earning its first victory of the season with a convincing 4-0 shutout of Timberlane.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak and gave the Broncos a 1-4 record heading into the middle portion of the schedule.
The girls opened the season with a victory, defeating Concord 2-1 on Aug. 28.
The Broncos then faced two of the state’s stronger Division I programs, falling 6-0 to Pinkerton on Sept. 1 and 4-0 to Windham on Sept. 9.
Alvirne continued its schedule against Dover on Sept. 15, falling 0-3.
The loss dropped the Broncos to 1-4 at that point in the season.
The girls then faced Exeter on Sept. 17, although an official score was not available in the online results reviewed for this story.
The Broncos closed the third week Monday, Sept. 21, against Bedford and fell 6-1, leaving the team with a 1-4 record.
The Broncos boys were scheduled to visit Exeter on Sept. 17, but an official varsity result was not available in the online sources reviewed. The boys’ schedule lists Nashua South as their next scheduled opponent, on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5:30 p.m.
Both Alvirne teams will be looking to turn the page as they continue through the Division I schedule, with plenty of league games remaining on the fall calendar.
