Broncos Football Quell Owls, Get Team’s Second Win

The Alvirne Broncos football team traveled to Timberlane Regional High School on Friday night, Oct. 17, and were able to outlast the Owls by three-points for the team’s second victory of the season.
A strong Broncos defense was able to hold back Timberlane’s second half efforts on that team’s home turf to help their team secure a narrow 25-22 win.

Coming off a rather deflating 17-56 loss at Pinkerton Academy, the victory was just what head coach Justin Hufft and his team needed for a bit of confidence heading into the final two games of the fall sports season.
The Alvirne sqiad held the now 3-4 Timberlane team to a miniscule 30-yards on the ground in the second half and senior running back Mikey Landmesser rushed for an impressive 175-yards with two touchdowns for the tough road win.
Landmesser was handed the ball for 16 carries in the contest for his 175-yards on the ground, with two carries resulting in touchdowns. He also had two receptions for 36-yards, giving him over 210-yards of offense.
Junior quarterback Ethan Dudley went six-for-14 in passing for an even 100-yards and tallied one touchdown. The first-year quarterback also had nine carries for 24-yards in the game.
The versatile senior Quinten Tetreault also contributed greatly to the victory, tallying three receptions for 57-yards, getting one touchdown and had four carries for 16-yards.
Senior wide receiver Jaden Taylor had one reception for seven-yards in the contest.
The Broncos will return home for the team’s fourth home game of the season and try to string together two-consecutive wins when the face the Dover Green Wave this coming Friday night, Oct. 24.
Dover has managed just one win the season, an 8-0 victory over the Spaulding Red Raiders at home back in September.
Alvirne is scheduled to finish the season at Merrimack High School on Halloween night, Oct. 31. The Tomahawks are currently at 4-2 and have won four consecutive games.
