It didn’t take long for the Alvirne High School football team to establish control over the Keene Blackbirds in Hudson on Friday night, putting up 27 unanswered points in the first 12-minutes and going on to win 41-12 for their third straight win.
By halftime, AHS had a 34-0 lead over Keene, putting any comeback hopes at bay.
The victory put the Broncos season record at 6-2 with one game left until the Division I playoffs.
The Broncos had a six-play drive to start the game that stalled with an unsuccessful fourth and two at the KHS 20-yard line.
The Bronco defense held Keene to their own 35 before having to punt where the AHS started their second drive from their 34-yard line.
From there, two strong runs by Mike Landmesser and one by quarterback, Charlie Crawford, put seven points on the board for the Broncos.
The Alvirne defense caused the games first turnover in Keene’s second drive, leading to the second score of the game.
Brody Orr intercepted a pass at the KHS 35-yard line on second and eight.
On the Broncos second play, Crawford connected with Garrett Hall for a 32-yard gain, leaving it up to Landmesser to get his second TD of the game.
Shawn Boudreau put through his second extra-point of the night for the 14-0 lead.
The defense forced a quick fourth-and-12 punt and the AHS offense started their next drive at the 47-yard line of Keene.
Two penalties and a couple errant snaps in the drive caused the Broncos to end up with a fourth-and-18 punt.
Starting the second quarter, the defense came up big again, blocking a fourth-and-10 punt at the KHS 15 where Shayne Mackey picked it up and ran to the endzone. Boudreau added the extra-point and a 21-0 Bronco lead.
On the following drive, the Alvirne defense caused another turnover, with the second interception of the night. This time by sophomore Ulysses Kangar, putting the Broncos at the Keene 22-yard line.
It took the AHS offense just one play to go up 27-0, when Landmasser ran in for a 22-yard touchdown, his third of the night. Boudreau missed his extra-point after a bad snap.
The kick-off, at 10:50 in the second, led to another turnover by special teams.

Alvirne took over at the Keene 23-yard line where Crawford eventually connected with Ryan Rocheleau for the Broncos fifth touchdown of the night.
The Boudreau point-after was good for a 34-0 AHS lead at 6:51 in the second, where they would finish the half.
The first drive of the second half led to the Blackbird’s first touchdown of the game, bringing the game to 34-6.
A stalled Broncos drive and a big run by Keene led to the Blackbird’s only other score of the game for a 34-12 result.
The final touchdown of the game came with :38 seconds left to play in the game when Boudreau blocked the punt, picked it up at the 30-yard-line and ran it into the endzone. His extra-point made it a 41-12 finish and the Broncos sixth win of the season and their third straight victory.
The Broncos will host Pinkerton Academy for their final regular season game on Friday night, Nov. 1.
The Astros sit at 5-2 and are coming off two straight wins.
