Local Residents gathered at Benson Park on Saturday, Sept. 12, for a day of family fun and memories as the community celebrated 100-years since Benson’s Wild Animal Farm first opened its gates in 1926. The Centennial Celebration featured live music, face painting, a petting zoo, games and historical displays, and an art installation, giving visitors an opportunity to celebrate the park’s colorful past and its transformation into a public recreation area.
Benson’s Wild Animal Farm, which operated for decades before closing in 1987. The property was later purchased by the Town of Hudson in 2002, with volunteers and town officials working to restore the grounds and preserve historic features.
Throughout Saturday’s celebration, families explored the park, children enjoyed activities and residents gathered with friends and neighbors, continuing a tradition of community and shared memories that has spanned generations.
