The Alvirne High School Wrestling team competed at the Division II State Championship on Saturday, Feb. 22 and four of those wrestlers came home with division titles.
The championship took place at Goffstown High School, with ten schools competing at the event.
First to finish at the top for the Broncos was number-one seeded Kyler Cox, at 106 lbs., who took home a title by having to win just one match in his bracket.

Cox had an 18-3 tech-fall victory over Bishop Guertin’s Wesley Steinruck in the Semi-Finals, then was given a forfeit in the finals for the 106-pound crown.
In the 165-pound weight division, Shayne Mackey, also the number one seed, won by fall in the finals over Noah Dailey of Souhegan for the Division II title. He went 3-0 at the event with all wins coming by way of pins.
Quintin Tetreault (#1 seed at 190 lbs.) also had a first-place finish for the Broncos. Tetreault also went 3-0 at the event and had a well-fought 3-0 victory over Zach Lavy, of Winnacunnet in the finals.
Another AHS number-one seed, Shawn Boudreau, went 3-0 for the state title. Boudreau had a pin at 3:44 over Gabe Holt of Souhegan for the title in the 215-pound division.
Timmy Malley had a third-place finish in the 113 lb. weight-class. He had a pin at 1:53 over Ethan Gahm of Winnacunnet in his final match.
The Broncos team will take their top finishers to the Meet of Champions at Pinkerton Academy on Saturday, March 1, to determine the best wrestlers of the state’s three divisions.
